Thanks for purchasing Scrapbook. We're glad you took the time to poke around and find this document. In this file we will go over a few simple steps for setting up Scrapbook on your site.

Step 1

Install the theme

Upload the contents of the zip file to your /wp-content/themes/ directory. Once the files are uploaded, you can click the Change Theme button from the Dashboard or expand the Appearance section in the sidebar and click on Themes. Then click Activate underneath the Scrapbook image and description.

It will look like this.

Step 2

Pick your options

Once the theme is installed, you can click over to Scrapbook Options. This page allows you to add customization options to style your site. Some items (like design elements) are required. Some items (like social networking options) are not. The required options are marked with select one under the section heading (in Scrapbook, only the sidebar section is required). After you've made your selections, click the Save Changes button. If you want to start over, you can click the Reset button.

Step 3

Choose your style

Scrapbook has three different styles to customize your site depending on your mood or the season. By default, Scrapbook will use the Summer stylesheet, but you can choose a different option from the Design Options dropdown menu. All stylesheets are located in the /styles directory of the theme.

Step 4

Customize your menus

Scrapbook supports customized menus. By default, all of your pages will display in the header above the site name. If you would like to customize the links that appear or the order that they appear in, you can do so by clicking the Menus link under Appearance (WordPress 3.0 and higher). At this time, Scrapbook does not support dropdown menus, so if you have multi-level menus, you will need to make them top-level only (no submenus). When you create your first menu, you will need to name it Header for the customized menu to show up on the site.

Step 5

Getting fancy

Scrapbook includes a custom shortcode to make the selected text in your posts or pages fancy to make selected bits of text stand out against the rest of your content. To use the shortcode, simply wrap the text you want to display in [fancy] tags, e.g.:

[fancy]my fancy text[/fancy]

will display like this:

my fancy text

If you are comfortable using the HTML editor in WordPress, you can use the following HTML for the same effect:

<span class="fancy">my fancy text</span>

This prevents you from being "locked-in" to the theme, as the [fancy] tags will still show on your site if you decide to switch themes.

Step 6

Finishing up

That's it!

At this point you can start using your new theme. By purchasing a Museum Theme from Arcane Palette, you can receive support via our Support Forum or report any bugs on our bug tracking system. Feel free to use the support forum any time you have any questions.
